This appellation takes its name from gutturnium, a sort of silver goblet once used as a cup of friendship at the end of the meal when everyone would take a sip of the same wine. It's vinified in the Piacenza style and is bottled in the spring following harvest after natural fermentation. Only select Barbera and Bonarda grapes are used to produce it.
